Samantha Ruth Prabhu doesn’t need any introduction these days. The distinguished and gifted actor has established herself as one of the strongest pillars in the South Indian film industry. Prominent cinematographer and producer, Ravi Varman, first spotted her in her early modelling days. Then, she commenced her professional acting career with Ye Maaya Chesave (2010). The “Oo Oo Antava” girl melted the hearts of millions with her spicy and sexy item song in Pushpa: The Rise (2021) alongside Allu Arjun.

Samantha is currently busy in the promotions of Vignesh Shivan‘s Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal. Plus, she has high hopes with her upcoming projects: Shaakuntalam, Yashoda, and the untitled Shiva Nirvana movie.

This Vikram Kumar time-bending project had the “Nadippin Nayakan” himself, Suriya, as the protagonist. To make things worse for his co-stars, he had a triple role in this one. Despite Suriya’s outstanding performance, Samantha manages to impress the viewers. Her presence functions as a magic relief in the film. The silly and heart winning chemistry of both actors stands out as one of the strongest features of the movie.

4/5 – Manam (2014)

It becomes almost impossible for a co-actor to leave an impact on the audience by his/her performance when you have established perfomers like Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya, Shriya Saran, and the legend himself, Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Amidst the sea of acting talent, Samantha received acclaim for her top-notch work in Manam. This Vikram Kumar directional turned out to be a fitting tribute to ANR.

3/5 – Rangasthalam (2018)

Set in a fictional village in the 80s, Rangasthalam tells the tale of two brothers, Chitti Babu (Ram Charan) and Kumar Babu (Aadhi Pinisetty), who together defy the local corrupt co-operative society and its leader, Bhupathi (Jagapathi Babu). Also, we have Ramalakshmi (Samantha) who soothes the hard-hitting tone of the film with her sweet and childlike innocence. And special thanks to excellent directional work from Sukumar.

2/5 – Eega (2012)

Samantha bagged South Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her terrific performance in S. S. Rajamouli‘s Eega. The distinguished helmer proved that you do not need a human protagonist to save the film and make it an enjoyable watch. Sudeep murders Nani to get his hands on Bindu. Miraculously, Nani reincarnates as a housefly to take vengeance for his death from Sudeep. Eega earned more than 125 crores at the box office that year.

1/5 – Ye Maaya Chesave (2010)

The debut project of Samantha, Ye Maaya Chesave, is undoubtedly her best work to date. Apart from fetching a Nandi Award, she also bagged the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actress for her mesmerising work in the film. Apart from her amazing performance, Samantha’s on-screen chemistry with Naga Chaitanya, Gautham Vasudev Menon’s direction and A. R. Rahman’s musical score are the film’s best features.
