It’s “grip it and rip it” time for Adam Sandler as he stars as the titular protagonist in the latest Happy Gilmore 2 teaser trailer released by Netflix. It serves as a sequel to the original 1996 movie, directed by Dennis Dugan, which was a moderate success during its theatrical run but later became a cult classic.
Apart from Sandler, we see other talents such as Julie Bowen (Modern Family), Allen Covert (Murder Mystery), Dennis Dugan (helmer of the original Happy Gilmore), Christopher McDonald (The Watcher), Ben Stiller (Night at the Museum, Severance), Bad Bunny, and more.
We see Happy competing in a new golf tournament in the newest trailer. However, a lot has changed since the first movie. Happy has aged and has lost his old spark. On top of this, he feels out of place after seeing himself competing against young, active and professional golfers.
Other additional talents that reportedly have a cameo appearance in Happy Gilmore 2 are Margaret Qualley, Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF/AEW), Scott Mescudi, Benny Safdie, Eminem, Becky Lynch (WWE), Travis Kelce, and more.
In addition to leading the sequel’s cast, Adam Sandler also co-wrote the movie with Tim Herlihy. Kyle Newacheck has directed the upcoming project from Netflix. It will be released on the popular OTT platform on July 25, 2025. Stay tuned for more updates.
