HBO is ready to reboot Harry Potter, and with that, the auditions for the new Hermione, Ron, and Harry have begun. The auditions will cater to children between the ages of 9 and 11. The children and their moms are super stoked at the thought of being associated with the franchise. Going as far as being ready to hide the age of their children just for them to be eligible.
But is it really worth it? sure the kid will be ushered into the world of Hollywood. And being a part of such an iconic franchise will certainly give them enough relevance to ride on the waves of fame into their adulthood. The gains would be massive. Just by doing the original series, Daniel Radcliffe raked over 90 million USD. But do all these pros make up for the cons?
The 90 million mark sure is fascinating, but Radcliffe himself has come out with his side of the story. How his presence in the industry segued him into a number of problems in his later years. Dealing with alcoholism and lack of privacy, the star wouldn’t really recommend anything like that for a child.
Emma Watson herself told how she had to go through a shift in the demeanor once she turned eighteen. If we take a look at Nickelodeon, there have been enough examples. Whether it be Miley Cyrus or Amanda Bynes. Many paid the price with their mental and physical well-being. All things considered, showing a child into the world of Hollywood has its own repercussions.
