Has Bobby Deol Reinvigorated Himself in the OTT Era?

The OTT landscape has given a chance to many of the underrated as well as underappreciated actors in the Indian cinema, but it has also helped give some old-timers a chance to break away from a set mould that usually comes from being a part of the Bollywood industry.

As some of the once A-List stars are starting to accept the OTT premise, we have seen a revival of sorts concerning their work. Bobby Deol is certainly another A-List star who is brought back into the arena and this time even the critics are on his side as he has become part of some acclaimed projects like Class of 83 and Aashram.

A no-nonsense officer in the former and a rogue spiritual leader with ulterior motives in the latter, we have seen him in roles that would certainly not have been possible if it weren’t for the advent of the OTT landscape where creators are more likely to churn out experimental content for the masses.

While Abhishek Bachhan has also got few opportunities with ‘Breathe’ and ‘Ludo’ Bobby Deol’s career was officially announced dead a long time ago and very few people must have seen this happening a few years ago.

I too was skeptical of Bobby Deol and some of the old films that he was a part of, Still, when I see him in this second innings, I cannot help but think that maybe the mainstream Bollywood space never had the resources or the vision to bring out his potential to the viewers fully.

This is Bobby Deol 2.0 that we are getting to see and trust me; no one is complaining about it!
