Imagine inviting families to watch a show which has two very prominent actors from the industry. Things become even more tempting if those actors belong to the same family off and on the screen. Especially when a clean image star like Venkatesh is cast, the entire family would want to watch it together.
The trailer, promotional posts and the overall campaign didn’t even mention anything suspicious. But, the show is loaded with too many cuss words and sex scenes.
Well, that is exactly the case with Rana Naidu. The series was a prominent attraction for the Telugu audience on Netflix. Already the Telugu market has not been doing very well for Netflix for a long time.
The situation for Netflix has gone worse in the Telugu markets. And for families that decided to watch the series, it was highly embarrassing.
So Rana Naidu may reap views instantaneously but it is a big loss for Netflix in the Telugu market in the long run.
