Zee5 has been in a sad state of affairs ever since the start of the year for 2025. The utter lack of original content on the platform has been pretty conspicuous and even what has been offered is nothing more than disappointing.
Amidst the original films and series, Zee5 offered ‘Hisaab Barabar’, ‘Mrs.’, ‘Pyaar Testing’, ‘Crime Beat’, and the latest in the list is ‘Logout’. Apart from ‘Mrs’, nothing worked even a bit. Even the licensed films it acquires the rights for weren’t that good either.
What’s sad is that ‘Logout’ had potential and it was Zee5 that failed to cash in the opportunity to make the most out of it. More unfortunate is the fact that Zee5 should have been desperate to grab on the chance to make it big given its continuous past failures.
This disregard to back its original content like ‘Logout’ reflects Zee5’s lack of faith in them and more so in itself. The platform is in dire need of a breakout hit but that will only be possible when Zee5 puts in the required efforts including acquisition, marketing and promotions among others. Without it even the best of content will not make into the viewer’s playlist.
