A research firm Whip Media has recently conducted its annual streaming customer satisfaction survey in relation to prominent OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, HBO Max, Apple TV+ and more. Whip Media had conducted the survey with around 2500 users based in the US. And the results are quite interesting, to say the least.
Amongst the major OTT platforms, HBO Max has secured the top position as the streaming service providing the highest overall satisfaction with a whopping 92% satisfaction percentage score. While the second most satisfying streaming service as per the survey is Disney+ with an impressive 88% score. Hulu has bagged the third spot and Netflix has managed to get the fourth spot on the list.
OTT platform Paramount+ (Rank 5) is ahead of Apple TV+ (Rank 6) in the same survey followed by Amazon Prime Video (Rank 7), Discovery+ (Rank 8) and Peacock (Rank 9).

| 4 | Netflix | 80% | 90% |
| 5 | Paramount+ | 79% | 75% |
| 6 | Apple TV+ | 76% | 62% |
| 7 | Amazon | 72% | 75% |
| 8 | Discovery+ | 72% | 72% |

The next parameter in Whip Media’s survey was about the likelihood of OTT viewers to keep their streaming services and it’s HBO Max again which was ahead of other OTT platforms with the highest likelihood of service retention. HBO Max is followed by Hulu, Disney+, Amazon, and Netflix in this aspect (ascending order of ranks).
Moreover, when survey participants were asked about the most indispensable OTT / SVOD platform, it was Netflix which has been considered as an indispensable streaming service. This implies that if users are given the option to keep only one OTT service, then it’s going to be Netflix. It’s followed by other OTT platforms like HBO Max, Hulu, Disney+, and Amazon (ascending order of ranks).
In the ‘Quality of Content Satisfaction’ parameter, HBO Max again ruled the charts followed by Apple TV+, Disney+, and Netflix (ascending order of ranks). Furthermore, in the ‘Variety of Content Satisfaction’ parameter also, HBO Max was ahead of its competitors namely Netflix, Disney+, and Apple TV+ (ascending order of ranks).
However, Netflix was the undisputed winner in terms of the ‘User Experience / Program Recommendation Satisfaction’ parameter. It was followed by other OTT players like Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max, and Apple TV+ (ascending order of ranks).
On the other hand, in terms of the ‘Value’ provided by a streaming service, HBO Max was voted as the top OTT platform while Netflix ranked last in this aspect. This means that as per users, Netflix provided the least value in relation to the quality of content it provides and the cost at which it offers its OTT platform subscription. HBO Max is followed by Disney+ and Hulu (ascending order of ranks).
On the whole, HBO Max and Disney+ OTT platforms are amongst the top rankers with respect to the most satisfying OTT / SVOD platforms, in terms of likelihood to keep service, quality and variety of content, and the overall value for money streaming service. On the other hand, Netflix has topped the list in relation to being an indispensable service, and user recommendation / program recommendation satisfaction parameters.
