WarnerMedia has taken the first concrete steps towards rolling out HBO Max in India and other South East Asian countries. The content giant has hired Indian-origin Disney veteran, Amit Malhotra, to lead the rollout of HBO Max in India and several other countries in the Indian in Southeast Asia, namely Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Amit Malhotra played a similar role at Disney.
