Keeping the nostalgia aside, Harry Potter is quite a hot topic in the industry right now, and J.K. Rowling ensures that she keeps it relevant in one way or another. But now, as HBO is actively working on the series, the fans will do a huge chunk of its advertisement, that’s an assurance.
Now, Harry Potter gets the showrunners, and they are quite acquainted with the ways of HBO.
Remember Succession?
As the Harry Potter show starts to take shape, Succession’s own Francesca Gardiner will write and produce the show. In terms of directing, Mark Mylod will be the main man, and he will also co-produce it.
Though the appointment of Gardiner doesn’t come out as shocking since she was one of the favorites to write the show. Tom Moran and Kathleen Jordan were also speculated to have a go at the screenplay.
The Harry Potter series is transitioning from a Max original to an HBO original as Warner Bros Discovery revamps its strategy.
Set for a 2026 release, the show will be a faithful adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s books with a new cast. Produced by Warner Bros Television and Brontë Film and TV, Rowling and David Heyman will serve as executive producers.
