Hollywood heaved a sigh of relief when the writers’ and actors’ strikes finally came to an end. And now, it’s gearing up to resume production schedules for some of its major big-screen and small-screen projects. One of the latter includes the eagerly anticipated second season of HBO’s widely admired post-apocalyptic horror series ‘The Last Of Us’.
As per the latest update by showrunner Craig Mazin, ‘The Last Of Us’, which was renewed for a second season earlier this year, will resume its filming schedule for Season-2 from 12th February 2024. With this encouraging update, it can be expected that ‘The Last Of Us’ Season-2 will come out sometime in the year 2025.
HBO’s video game to small screen series adaptation ‘The Last of Us’ revolves around two characters Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and is set in the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic world affected by a mass fungal infection. The basic premise is that Joel, a hardened smuggler, is hired to transport a teenager Ellie across the country, while protecting her from omnipresent dangers. It’s currently streaming in India on the Jio Cinema OTT platform.
It was earlier reported that ‘The Last Of Us’ will not end with Season-2 and that there are plans for a third season. And the second season will be set in Vancouver and is expected to have a lot more zombie scenes because a segment of viewers was rather discontented with the fact that the first season had long parts featuring the dreaded clickers. So, we can expect a lot more horror in Season-2, which is expected to be based on the story of ‘The Last of Us Part II’ video game.
