Kit Connor plays the established rugby player Nick Nelson, while newcomer Joe Locke plays the more introverted lad Charlie Spring, who has suffered from repeated coercion since coming out as gay.
Ever since the teaser was released in the last month, has led to a state of excitement amond the fans and audiences. Now with the release of the trailer, we’ll get a closer view at the plot of the eight episode series.
The trailer starts with Charlie’s older sister Tori (Jenny Walser) questioning him on his choices of men he would prefer to date. We get the answer soon following this scene, when Charlie’s former tutor makes him seat next to Nick, the rugby player with whom he never had a conversation but quickly develops profound admiration and emotions for him. Unfortunately Charlie’s best friend Tao dismisses his feelings, saying that it’s just a ”silly crush”, following which Elle described Nick as the “the straightest person I have ever seen”.
As the story unfolds, we see Charlie joining the rugby team, then Nick getting into a combat and then the two of them sharing a romantic scene under the cascading rains.
‘Heartstopper’ is slated to release on 22nd April, in the streaming platform Netflix.
