The first look of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is out now! When you think you have seen all the glory, all the light and all the Indian beauty a screen can offer then Sanjay Leela Bhansali arrives to set the benchmark higher.
Needless to say, beauty need not be on an epic scale but Bhansali is the Milton of Indian cinema who shows us the paradise that is too lost to be found.
Yes, the big Sanjay Leela Bhansali project is finally through and it is actually epic.
Before we go through the first look, let’s tell you some basic stuff. The series has been created by Sanjay Leela Bhansali but all the episodes need not be directed by him. In fact, there are reports that the big man helmed only 2 episodes and the rest of them were directed by his protege in close check.
The series stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chaddha, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Sheikh.
The first look is glittering in all the magnanimity. There is a contrast of gold and black as we see Sonakshi Sinha in black, almost an agent of menace while Richa Chaddha is also not part of the courtesan gang that includes Manisha Koirala, Sharmin Segal, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Aditi Rao Hydari.
The first look is everything a Sanjay Leela Bhansali project should have. The grand glittering sets, extravagant costumes, art and sheer overpowering beauty. The first look is extremely good and we are yet to receive any idea of the release date.
But, Binged promises to bring every update whatsoever from this seemingly biggest Indian series in sight. But, everything should not just be about the presentation of the project, we hope that there is a strong story too.
As of now, we are assuming that Heeramandi will tell the story of courtesans trapped in the freedom struggle. As “The Diamond Bazaar” falls in current-day Pakistan, the people and culture must have suffered badly in the partition days. Other than magnanimity, we also see some gun shots and sinister plots, so Heeramandi is not going to be just about dance and music.
But there are some insane expectations from the series, let’s see when it arrives.
