The first look of Heeramandi is now out. The series was announced back in 2021 with Sanjay Leela Bhansali helming the show. It is an instantaneous and massive surprise to the audience and the way Netflix has announced it is phenomenal as well.
Heeramandi’s first look was unveiled at a big event with Sanjay Leela Bhansali presenting it along with Netflix CEO and CO Ted Sarandos. The tie between Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Netflix was solidified last year with Gangubai Kathiawadi. The film performed exceptionally well on Netflix and the original will be even more significant. Because Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself stated at the launch event that Heeramandi is the biggest project that he has ever helmed.
Although this is a big statement after films like Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani. Heeramandi is a street in Lahore which is famous for its courtesans. The film is set in the pre-partition era where we will see those courtesans ruling as queens.
There were many speculations about the cast of the show but now it is almost final. Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Shaikh.
