Eminent English filmmaker Guy Ritchie’s upcoming film ‘The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare’ has been in the works for the past few years. The upcoming World War-II flick is based on war reporter Damien Lewis’ book ‘Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare: How Churchill’s Secret Warriors Set Europe Ablaze and Gave Birth to Modern Black Ops’. The film adaptation has been in the works for the past few years since Paramount first acquired the rights in 2015.
And in an exciting update, ‘The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare’ movie has reportedly cast ‘Man of Steel’ actor Henry Cavill and ‘Baby Driver’ actress Eiza Gonzalez in the lead roles. The film is being produced by ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ producer Jerry Bruckheimer and will commence its filming schedule in January 2023 in Turkey.
The action spy film ‘The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare’ is ostensibly inspired by true events and will revolve around UK’s former Prime Minister Winston Churchill and James Bond author Ian Fleming’s secret World War-II combat squad. The innovative fighting techniques used by the said squad against the formidable Nazis helped change the direction of the brutal war and gave rise to what is now known as the modern-day Black Ops unit.
This is not the first time Guy Ritchie would be directing Henry Cavill for a film. Because previously, the duo had collaborated for the brilliant spy actioner ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E’ which also featured Armie Hammer as the co-lead.
Besides his next film ‘Enola Holmes 2’, Henry Cavill’s upcoming acting projects include Matthew Vaughn’s star-studded action spy film ‘Argylle’ and another film titled ‘The Rosie Project’, amongst others.
And for Guy Ritchie, who had last directed Jason Statham’s violent action pic ‘Wrath of Man’, his upcoming directorial projects include Jason Statham starrer action-comedy movie ‘Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre’, ‘The Interpreter’ starring Jake Gyllenhaal, ‘Aladdin’ sequel and ‘The Gentlemen’ series.
