A six part series, ‘The Rig’ is set on a fictional Kishorn Bravo oil rig located off the Coast of Scotland and as per official synopsis, “when the crew are due to return to the mainland, a mysterious and all-enveloping fog rolls through and they find themselves cut off from all communications with the shore and the outside world.
As they endeavour to discover what’s driving this force, bonds are broken allegiances formed and generational fault lines exposed. The crew of the Bravo will be driven to limits of both their loyalties and their endurance, into a confrontation with forces beyond their imagination.”
‘The Rig’ stars Line of Duty star Martin Compston as communications officer Fulmer Hamilton, Game of Thrones actor Iain Glen as offshore installation manager of the rig and leader of the crew Magnus MacMillan, Rochenda Sandall as rig’s medic Cat Braithwaite, Schitt’s Creek fame Emily Hampshire as rig worker Rose Mason, another Game of Thrones actor Owen Teale as rig’s head driller Lars Hutton.
Also joining the cast of Amazon’s supernatural thriller series are Emun Elliot, Richard Pepple, Mark Bonnar, Abraham Popoola, Stuart McQuarrie and Molly Vevers.
There’s no official word on the release date of ‘The Rig’ but it is supposed to come out sometime in 2022 on Amazon Prime Video.
