‘Mahaan‘ is one of the most-awaited films on OTT. Digital viewers are eagerly waiting for the film to premiere on OTT. Mahaan stars much-loved Tamil star Vikram, aka Chiyaan Vikram, in the lead role. It also stars Vikram’s son Dhruv Vikram as a parallel lead. It is the first time ever that the father and son will be seen on screen together for a film.
Seven Screen Studio, producers of Mahaan, today dropped the OTT release date and OTT platform for Mahaan. The film has skipped theatres and opted for a direct to digital release on Prime Video. Mahaan premieres on Prime Video on 10th February, 2022.
‘Mahaan’ is an action and drama film, that will bring real-life father and son duo, Chiyaan Vikram and Dhruv Vikram, together on screen for the first time ever. Vikram stars as an ambitious man whose family leaves him when he strays from the path of the good to realise his ambitions. Life comes full circle for him when he becomes a billionaire, but craves the presence of his family and son in his life.
Will he get a second chance to be a good father to his son? Mahaan is a narrative of a series of unexpected events that transform the whole life of an ordinary man as well as the people around him.
Mahaan has been written and directed by Tamil filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, and produced by Lalit Kumar under the banner of Seven Screen Studio. The film was labelled ‘Chiyaan 60’ when it was first announced, as it is the 60th film of its lead star Vikram, aka Chiyaan Vikram. Santhosh Narayanan has scored the music of Mahaan. Mahaan stars Vikram, Dhruv Vikram, Bobby Simha and Simran in pivotal roles.
Mahaan will release on Prime Video in the original Tamil language version, along with Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada dubbed versions. The Kannada version is titled as ‘Maha Purusha’.
In recent times, Karthik Subbaraj has had several of his films skipping theatres and releasing on OTT. His films ‘Jagame Thandhiram’, ‘Penguin’, ‘Boomika’ among others, have released on OTT. Besides these, he’s directed segments in OTT anthologies, Navarasa and Putham Pudhu Kaalai. Mahaan is Karthik Subbaraj’s next film to release on a digital platform.
