Amidst the rising demand for an Israeli-Hamas ceasefire, Hunter Schafer, best known for her role as Jules in HBO’s Euphoria, was arrested at a pro-Palestine protest on Tuesday. The transgender actress was detained, along with over 50 protestors, while trying to disrupt US President Joe Biden’s appearance on Seth Meyers’ The Late Tonight Show. Schafer’s arrest certainly complicates Euphoria Season 3 production. Moreover, some fans believe her recent arrest may become the reason for her exit from the hit HBO Series.
HBO and Max’s Chairperson and CEO, Casey Bloys, has confirmed that Euphoria Season 3 will come out in 2025. However, the next season is yet to receive an exact release window. Hunter Schafer’s recent arrest may make things complicated for HBO.
Some fans have speculated that HBO may remove Schafer from Euphoria, considering her arrest has brought a lot of attention to the rising pressures on the Biden administration to push for a ceasefire. According to many fans, this scenario may result in the removal of Jules Vaughn (played by Schafer) from Euphoria Season 3.

What makes this matter even worse is HBO’s Euphoria is based on Ron Lashem and Daphna Levin’s Euphoria, an Israeli series.
The production of Euphoria Season 3 has already endured several setbacks, including the production delays caused by the Hollywood strikes. In January 2024, another actor from the show, Jacob Elordi (known for playing Nate Jacobs), disclosed his intentions to work on Season 3 during his talk with Jimmy Fallon on ‘The Tonight Show’.
“I hope it’s [filming] soon, or they’re going to have to Benjamin Button me or something,” Elordi joked.
There is nearly a three-year gap between the releases of Euphoria’s first and second seasons. Considering Hunter Schafer’s recent arrest, HBO may push back Season 3’s release window even further.
