Kartik Aaryan has shared his unique journey of transforming into Dr. Freddy Ginwala for his upcoming direct-to-ott release ‘Freddy’ on Disney+ Hotstar.
He shares how he gained 14 kgs for the role and even went to real clinics to learn the skills from real dentists. For Kartik it was a memorable yet challenging journey as he stepped into the shoes of ‘Freddy’ by pushing his physical and mental boundaries.
The video shared his conversations with the director on sets of ‘Freddy’ who like a mentor guides him as to how to get into the character, own his body language, think like he thinks and much more.
This ain’t the first time an actor has shared his behind the scene transformation journey for a film but this surely is a part of the no trailer strategy makers have adapted for ‘Freddy’.
With just a couple of days left before Freddy’s exclusive digital premiere on Disney+ Hotstar there is no sign of a trailer and most likely there won’t be one at all. Instead the makers have taken the promo approach where teasers, songs and mini clips have been put out for the viewers.
‘Freddy’ is a romantic thriller and the makers will not want to reveal any twists. So the only explanation for this ‘no trailer’ strategy is to keep up the suspense amongst the ever creative OTT audience. But the makers aren’t leaving the public high and dry and have given ample content to keep up the hype for the film.
Starring Alaya F, Jennifer Piccinato and Tripti Agarwal alongside Kartik Aaryan, ‘Freddy’ is directed by Shashanka Ghosh (‘Veere Di Wedding’) and produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, Narendra Hirawat, Shreyans Hirawat in association with Jay Shewakramani. ‘Freddy’ will premiere only on Disney+ Hotstar on 2nd December, 2022.
