Here’s Mirzapur Season 1 Recap While You Wait For Mirzapur 2!

Mirzapur season 2 is just two weeks away and it’s time we do a recap of the first season and it’s ending. Mirzapur on Amazon Prime Video became a massive hit after the launch of its first season two years ago in 2018 and ever since then the fans have been eagerly and desperately waiting for the second season.

Mirzapur on Amazon Prime Video is a crime-thriller drama about drugs, guns, murders and lawlessness in the Purvanchal region of UP. Akhandanand Tripathi is the biggest mafia don of Mirzapur who runs the business of drugs and guns under the guise of a carpet export business and hence is known as Kaleen Bhaiya. In his family there is his father – Satyanand Tripathi, son – Phoolchand Tripathi aka Munna and second wife – Beena Tripathi – whom he isn’t able to satisfy in bed.

It was all going as usual until one day Munna’s gunshot accidently kills the groom at a wedding procession which leads the groom’s family to an upright lawyer Ramashankar Pandit. Ramashankar has a wife & three children – Guddu, Bablu and Dimpy. While Kaleen Bhaiya is busy handling some other matter he asks Munna to handle his own shit.

Munna goes straight to Pandit’s house and threatens him to drop the case with a gun on his head. Instead he gets beaten up by his sons – Guddu & Bablu. On hearing this Kaleen Bhaiya summons the Pandit brothers. Impressed by their courage he offers them to join his gang and pursue their father to drop the case. With no choice left they comply. But this upsets Munna big time.

When their father doesn’t agree, Guddu and Bablu convince the groom’s family to take the case back. Meanwhile, there is Dimpy’s friend Sweety Gupta on whom Guddu has a crush but is too shy to ask her out. Sweety, her younger nerdy sister Golu, Dimpy, Guddu and Bablu all go to the same college.

Rati Shankar Shukla of Jaunpur is an old time rival of Kaleen Bhaiya. He hires someone to kill Munna but Munna survives. On the other hand, Kaleen Bhaiya gives Guddu and Bablu the responsibility of expanding his guns business. Kaleen Bhaiya gets attacked by Shukla’s gang while he goes out of Mirzapur to arrange funds for local politician J P Yadav.

He later finds out that Shukla is after his whole family. While he is trying to protect his family, his wife satisfies her sexual desires with a servant and Munna hatches a plan with his close friend Compounder to claim the throne of Mirzapur even if that meant killing his own father.

Coming back on the collegemates, Sweety is tired of waiting and asks Guddu to take her on a date. Seeing that Munna has no opposition in the college elections, the principal convinces Golu to stand against him. Guddu who is a fitness freak starts taking steroids to win the bodybuilding competition.

To test the trust of Pandit brothers Maqbool a loyal employee of Kaleen makes them kill one of Kaleen’s enemies. The effect of steroids is such that soon Guddu turns into a reckless murderer. Meanwhile Kaleen Bhaiya gets in touch with Lala for drug deal where Munna without telling his father makes a deal with Lala for a share.

Meanwhile, government sends a special police officer, Ram Sharan Maurya, to control the increasing violence in the area. Alerted by this, Kaleen, J P and Shukla meet where one thing leads to other and J P and Shukla hatch a plan to take down Kaleen Bhaiya.

In the college, during an election campaign Golu gets attacked and Bablu comes to her rescue but Golu doesn’t like this violent side of Bablu. Munna who is jealous of Guddu and Sweety’s budding relationship kidnaps Dimpy. This leads to a rivalry between Munna and Guddu.

Things now start turning treacherous. On one hand Pandit brothers get attacked by police, on the other compounder gets caught while trying to kill Kaleen Bhaiya who then summons Munna to know the truth. Munna to prove himself kills compounder in front of Kaleen Bhaiya.

Guddu and Bablu while on run meet Rati Shankar Shukla and a scuffle of words leads Guddu shooting Shukla dead mid-street. Inspector Maurya is on his investigation and catches some eunuchs to get to Kaleen Bhaiya. On returning to Mirzapur, Guddu gets married to Sweety and participates in the local bodybuilding competition. But Kaleen Bhaiya manipulates the results and doesn’t let him win as he thinks it was Guddu who tried to kill him.

Meanwhile, Kaleen’s father gets to know of the affair between Beena and the servant and makes Beena cut the servant’s penis as a punishment and gets physical with her. Unaware of all this Munna and Kaleen plan to get rid of Guddu. Golu wins the college election and goes with Guddu, Sweety, Babu and Dimpy go to attend Dimpy’s friend’s wedding who is actually Lala’s daughter.

The affect of steroids starts kicking in which leaves Guddu in a bad shape. At the wedding Sweety informs Guddu about her pregnancy. All was good until Munna hijacks the wedding and cruelly kills Bablu and Sweety, while badly injuring Guddu. Golu and Dimpy somehow escape with Guddu.

By the end of season 1, Kaleen Bhaiya flaunts his power to inspector Maurya and Sharad Shukla (Rati Shankar’s son) is seen shaving his head as part of a ritual after his father’s death. He looks angry and one who wants to seek revenge.

The ending of Mirzapur season 1 on Amazon Prime Video made very clear that there will be a Mirzapur season 2. This time it’s all about revenge and fight for the throne of Mirzapur. The intensity, the rivalry, the force is much more this time. Who do you think will rule Mirzapur? Will there be a new King or rather a Queen or will the reining Kings, the Tripathis continue to veil power over Mirzapur?
