Ever since the fourth season of the Primetime Emmy nominated martial arts drama series ‘Cobra Kai’ premiered on the Netflix OTT platform on 31st December 2021, Miyagi-Verse fans are now waiting with bated breath for the fifth season’s arrival.
Filming for the eagerly awaited Cobra Kai Season 5 commenced in September 2021 and concluded in December 2021. While post-production for the show started earlier this year in March.
And now, in an exciting update for ‘Cobra Kai Season 5’, one of the show’s creators Jon Hurwitz took to Twitter a few hours back and interacted with fans in a Q&A session. During the interaction, he revealed that the fifth season of the Cobra Kai series is fully edited. He further stated that while the release date is yet to be out, there should be some fun teases during the ‘Netflix is a Joke’ event, which is to be held on 5th May 2022.

Although the release date for ‘Cobra Kai’ Season 5 is yet to be officially announced, it is being speculated that the show can arrive on Netflix anytime between July and September this year. There was an eight-month gap between Cobra Kai Season 4’s filming conclusion and its release. Considering the pattern, the fifth season can be expected to come out by August 2022 end.
‘Cobra Kai’ series is set more than three decades after the events of the 1984 cult film ‘The Karate Kid’. While the parent film featured Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso in the role of the underdog protagonist and his adversary was Johnny Lawrence was played by William Zabka. Whereas tables turned in the spin-off web series as the goings-on are narrated from Johnny Lawrence’s point of view in a universe where he becomes the underdog.
‘Cobra Kai’ Season 4 ended with the show’s new antagonist Terry Silver on the verge of realizing his nefarious plan to conquer Cobra Kai after unethically winning the Karate tournament. Now, it remains to be seen how Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence will fight back with new allies in ‘Cobra Kai’ Season 5.
