Lyca Productions, the banner behind Mani Ratnam’s epic drama ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ have today unveiled a BTS video from the much awaited second instalment of the film. While it’s a fun video, it also gave some interesting insights into ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’.
‘Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1’ was more of a character introduction and served as a build up of the second part. The upcoming sequel will reveal the main plot and fans will get to see a grand affair.
First part of ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ ended on not one but quite a few cliffhangers and left the viewers are eagerly waiting for the second part to know how everything will turn out. For one, is Ponniyin Selvan (Jayam Ravi) really dead or is it a well planned decoy to fool the conspirators plotting against the crown?
Also, will crown Prince Adithya Karikalan (Vikram) overcome the agony of his lost love and return to the palace as requested by his sister Kundavai (Trisha)? How will Kundavai and Sundar Chol (Prakash Raj) save the crown from within the palace and tackle the conspirators with none of the Princes available to provide that much needed physical front?
What is Parvateshwar (R. Sarathkumar) and Nandini’s (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) next step going to be? Will they together launch an out and out attack on the crown or will Nandini continue to use Parvateshwar to avenge Veerapandya’s death and take over the crown herself? There’s also the mystery of veiled woman Oomai Rani, will she save Ponniyin Selvan once again as she did when he was young?
‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ will give answers to all this and much more as it releases worldwide on 28th April, 2023.
