Harvey Mason Jr, CEO of Recording Academy, disclosed this year’s Grammy nominations on November 23, 2021. However, the ceremony was first planned to take place on January 31 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. But the Recording Academy decided to postpone the award show due to the sudden surge in COVID-19’s Omicron variant cases in the country. The academy chose MGM Garden Arena as the venue sometime later. The MGM Garden Arena has hosted the Latin Grammy Awards six times.
