Bollywood stars Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar have revealed the release date for the trailer of their upcoming movie, Badhaai Do, via their respective social media accounts. The trailer will arrive on January 25. This film is serving as the spiritual successor of Badhaai Ho with Ayushmann Khurrana, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao, and Sanya Malhotra in the cast. It also marked the final film appearance of veteran actress, late Surekha Sikri.
The sensational box office success of Badhaai Ho in 2018 lured Junglee Pictures to go with their forthcoming sequel. However, we have an entirely different cast and story this time. Apart from Rao and Pednekar, we will also see Sheeba Chaddha in the movie’s cast.
Rao is playing a cop named Shardul in the film. On the other hand, the leading lady will portray the character of Sumi, a physical education teacher.
Harshavardhan Kulkarni will helm the upcoming project. He made his directional debut with Hunterr in 2015. And the writing duo of Suman Adhikary and Akshat Ghildial has served as the screenplay writers for the film.
Rao is also busy filming ‘Monica, O My Darling’, set to stream this year on Netflix. Additionally, he is involved with the production of Bheed and Hit: The First Case. The former also has Pednekar in the cast. Plus, she has also starred in Akshay Kumar’s upcoming Raksha Bandhan.
