In a recent interaction with the media, the writer and director of Squid Game, Hwang Dong-hyuk, revealed that he’s currently writing Squid Game Season 2. The show will go into production early next year, which is 2023. Squid Game Season 2 will release on Netflix only in late 2023, or the year after that, which is in early 2024.
For those who don’t know, Squid Game is about a group of 456, desperate-for-money people who are lured into playing a set of games with the carrot of massive prize money that runs into billions of won (South Korean currency) – 45.6 billion won to be specific. As the participants go higher up in the game, the games get increasingly brutal and the stakes get gorier and bloodier.
