Fahadh Faasil’s C U Soon released on Amazon Prime Video and people are going gaga for the engaging thriller. The makers claim that the movie has been shot entirely on phones during lockdown, making it more so praiseworthy given the astonishing quality of the content.
The movie’s concept looks very much inspired from the 2018 English film ‘Searching’ directed by Aneesh Chaganty which was available on Amazon Prime Video but interestingly has now been removed. For those who haven’t seen Searching, Fahadh Faasil’s C U Soon is something totally new and thus the mighty appreciation for it.
But those who have seen both these films know how C U Soon lacks behind Searching in terms of the gripping and intriguing nature of the film’s story. But we can’t deny the fact that C U Soon is a decent desi attempt with amazing background score, clever cinematography, deft editing and slick performances.
The major admirable feature for this Malayalam film is the level of digital quality maintained despite the use of iPhone cameras for the entire shooting process and it definitely makes for a good watch. Featuring Fahadh Faasil, Roshan Mathew and Darshana Rajendran, C U Soon is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
