The last week of October was marked with the arrival of many foreign OTT titles such as ‘Army of Thieves’ (Netflix), ‘Maradona: Blessed Dream’ (Amazon Prime Video), ‘Cry Macho’ (BookMyShow), ‘Hypnotic’ (Netflix), and ‘Nobody’ (iTunes), to name a few.
On the other hand, there is just one new foreign film releasing this week on Indian OTT. We are talking about the eagerly anticipated movie ‘Finch’. And we have not one but three solid reasons as to why you should look forward to watching it.
Intriguing Premise
‘Finch’ (formerly titled BIOS) is a post-apocalyptic science fiction film that is blessed with an intriguing premise. The film’s plot revolves around an ailing robotics engineer, who is apparently the only survivor in a world devastated by an adverse solar event. The inventor creates an android robot to protect the life of his only companion – a dog. Together, the inventor, the dog, and the robot undertake an adventurous journey across the country.
Tom Hanks – Robert Zemeckis Collaboration
Veteran Hollywood actor Tom Hanks is essaying the titular role of the robotics engineer in ‘Finch’. Not just that, for ‘Finch’, Tom Hanks has also teamed up with his former collaborator and visionary filmmaker Robert Zemeckis, who is one of the executive producers of the film. The Academy Award-winning actor-director duo had previously worked together in two cult films ‘Forrest Gump’ and ‘Cast Away’.
Top-Notch Director
The film has been helmed by Primetime Emmy award-winning director Miguel Sapochnik, who is known for directing episodes of acclaimed television shows such as ‘Game of Thrones, ‘Altered Carbon’, ‘True Detective’, ‘Fringe’, and ‘House M.D.’, besides also directing the ‘Game of Thrones’ upcoming spin-off show ‘House of the Dragon’.
Tom Hanks starrer ‘Finch’ would start streaming on the Apple TV+ OTT platform from 5th November onwards.
