The year 2023 for the Indian film industry was blessed with some terrific blockbusters. It started with a bang with Sidharth Anand’s action extravaganza ‘Pathaan’ starring Shah Rukh Khan. SRK delivered another blockbuster later with Atlee’s ‘Jawan’. Although the charismatic superstar missed out on a hattrick of blockbusters in a single year as Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’ hasn’t lived up to the box-office expectations so far.

10. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
It’s a family drama movie and the basic story is about how an affluent Punjabi lad Rocky (played by Ranveer Singh) meets and falls in love with a drastically different Bengali girl Rani (Alia Bhatt). To check whether their marriage will survive or not, they decide to live with each other’s families for some time, leading to an amusing turn of events.
9. Adipurush (Streaming on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video)
Helmed by Om Raut, the mythological action movie is an adaptation of the Hindu epic Ramayana and features Prabhas (as Adipurush / Lord Ram), Saif Ali Khan (as Lankesh / Ravana), and Kriti Sanon (as Janaki / Goddess Sita).
8. Tiger 3 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 31st December – TBA)
It is the third instalment of YRF’s Tiger film series starring Salman Khan as the daredevil spy. It has been directed by the immensely talented filmmaker Maneesh Sharma and also features a cameo by Shah Rukh Khan. The film’s story is about how the daredevil protagonist Tiger is wrongfully accused as a traitor and makes it his mission to clear his name.
7. Salaar (Currently Not Streaming On OTT)
Prashanth Neel’s action thriller film features Prabhas in the lead role. The movie’s plot ostensibly revolves around a gang leader who locks horns with other dangerous gangs in order to fulfill his friend’s wish.
6. Jailer (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Sun NXT)
Helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the underlying plot of the movie follows the story of a courageous and upright jailer (played by Rajinikanth), who tries to stop a gang of criminals from rescuing their leader from the prison he is in-charge of.
5. Leo (Streaming on Netflix)
Lokesh Kanagraj’s action thriller movie follows a mild-mannered café owner Leo (played by Vijay), who becomes a hero overnight after a fight with a bunch of criminals. But the incident brings back his dark past, which threatens to destroy his happy family.
4. Gadar 2 (Streaming on Zee5)
A sequel to the superhit movie ‘Gadar’ and set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war, the film’s plot follows the journey of Tara Singh (Sunny Deol), who returns to the neighbouring country in order to get his son back.
3. Animal (Currently Not Streaming On OTT)
Helmed by Sandeep Vanga Reddy, the underlying plot of the gangster action drama revolves around a complicated father-son relationship (played by Anil Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor) and how the son transforms into a violent psychopath. It also features Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead.
2. Pathaan (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
Directed by Siddharth Anand, the movie is about a daredevil RAW agent Pathaan (Shah Rukh Khan), who teams up with a mysterious rival agent (Deepika Padukone) to stop a former agent and terrorist Jim (John Abraham) from executing a brutal attack on the country. The film also has a wonderful cameo by Salman Khan as Tiger.
