In Part-II of the writeup, we have covered the next five highest-ranked Indian web series that are in continuation of the titles we already covered in the previous article. In case you want to go through the first part of the article, you can do so by clicking on the link below. Since the IMDb rankings keep on changing on a real-time basis, some title ranks are accordingly variable. So, here is the list of the Indian web series placed in the Top 250 IMDb list that are ranked 6 to 10 (at the time of writing this article):
10. Flames (Streaming on TVF Play and MX Player)
It’s a cute and refreshing teenage romantic dramedy innocently narrated through a series that has its heart in the right place. The title derives its name from a game you may have played in the 1990s to find your love relationship status. The plot follows a romantic relationship that develops between two tuition mates Rajat and a newcomer Ishita.
9. Sacred Games (Streaming on Netflix)
Based on Vikram Chandra’s 928 pager novel of the same name, the story follows a Sikh cop (Saif Ali Khan) who gets the most important call of his life from a gangster (Nawazuddin Siddiqui). The gangster tells him that he has 25 days to save the city. But the burning question is: Why did the gangster pick him for such a critical mission? The series spanning two seasons were helmed by Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, and Neeraj Ghaywan and also featured Pankaj Tripathi, Radhika Apte, Neeraj Kabi, Aamir Bashir, and Luke Kenny in important roles.
8. Delhi Crime (Streaming on Netflix)
The fact that the Netflix series bagged International Emmy Award for ‘Best Drama Series’, the first time for an Indian web series, says a lot about its quality. The series follows the abominable and blood-curdling Delhi gang-rape incident and the police investigation that followed in order to nab the culprits. The film had an incredibly riveting and equally sensitive performance from Shefali Shah.
7. The Family Man (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
Undoubtedly one of the most popular and adeptly executed series of recent times. The series follows a middle-class family man (Manoj Bajpayee) who also happens to be a world-class spy working for an investigation agency. How he balances the two aspects of his life forms the crux of the story. The productions values, lead performances, and direction were simply top-notch. Both the seasons are a must-watch for fans of all genres and irrespective of age.
6. Panchayat (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
The series revolves around an engineering graduate Abhishek Tripathi, who unwillingly accepts the post of a panchayat office Secretary in a remote village of Uttar Pradesh. The lead role was beautifully enacted by IIT Kharagpur alumni turned actor Jitendra Kumar. Unsurprisingly, the actor bagged a Filmfare Award in the ‘Best Actor Comedy Series (Male)’ category, for the show. ‘Panchayat’ is considered by some fans as a modern-day version of the cult TV show ‘Malgudi Days’.
