The upcoming Apple TV+ thriller series, Hijack, has received a release window. It stars Idris Elba and Archie Panjabi in the leading roles.
Created by the duo of Jim Field Smith and George Kay, the seven-episode show will hit the streaming service on June 28. The first two episodes will get released on the mentioned date, followed by weekly drops.
‘Hijack’ will revolve around a skilled business negotiator, Sam Nelson (Elba), who utilises his skills to bring a peaceful end to a hijacking of a plane as it makes its way to London. Nelson finds himself on a seven-hour flight to the capital of England, and authorities on the ground have no idea what is going on in that hijacked plane. This is where Nelson steps in to save the passengers on the flight with his high-risk plan.
Apart from Elba and Panjabi, the forthcoming Apple TV+ project stars Max Beesly, Holly Aird, Aimee Kelly, Fatima Adoum, Zora Bishop, Mohamed Elsandel, and many more performers.
Idris Elba’s recent flick, Luther: The Fallen Sun, received mixed-to-positive critical reception upon its release on Netflix in March this year. Plus, we will see the actor lending his voice to Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, scheduled to arrive in theatres worldwide on December 20, 2024.
Apple TV+ greenlighted ‘Hijack’ in April last year. Besides leading the series, Elba will also serve as one of its executive producers, along with the creators. The production commenced in May 2022.
Idris Elba’s Apple TV+ series, Hijack, will come out on June 28. Stay tuned for more updates.
