Much has been written about Bollywood sex comedy film ‘Thank You For Coming’. The film has a radical concept – that of female sexual pleasure; which had made it the talk of the town at the time of its release in theatres on 6th October, 2023. However, despite all the buzz, ‘Thank You For Coming’ failed to make too much noise at the box office, raking in poor revenue. The film was largely a flop.
Despite its failure at the box office, ‘Thank You For Coming’ remains one of the most awaited films on OTT for Indian film lovers. Given its sex comedy genre, Thank You For Coming is also the ideal film to watch on OTT.
We at Binged have got you tentative information on the ‘Thank You For Coming’ OTT release date and platform. The post-theatrical streaming rights for the film have been bought by streaming giant Netflix. Hence, Thank You For Coming’ will premiere only on Netflix and on no other platform.
As for the ‘Thank You For Coming’ OTT release date, the mandatory 8-week theatrical window for the film expires on 30th November. This means that Thank You For Coming can premiere on Netflix on 1st December, 2023. However, Netflix already has Akshay Kumar’s Mission Raniganj premiering on 1st December. So there’s no benefit in releasing two Hindi films on the same day for Netflix. As per our understanding, Netflix should premiere Thank You For Coming on 3rd December, which is a Sunday, two days after releasing Mission Raniganj.
If not 3rd December, then we think Netflix might save Thank God For Coming for the Friday two weeks after that, which is the 15th of December. This is because Netflix has its ambitious Zoya Akhtar film ‘The Archies’ releasing on 7th December, 2023; and it will not want another Hindi film distracting viewers from The Archies.
Of course, the Thank You For Coming Netflix release date might be delayed further, in keeping with the whims and fancies of the streaming giant. Still, these December dates seem to be the best bet to release Thank You For Coming on Netflix.
‘Thank You For Coming’ is written by Radhika Anand and Prashasti Singh, directed by Karan Boolani, and produced by Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor. The film stars Bhumi Pednekar, Shehnaaz Gill, Dolly Singh, Kusha Kapila and Shibani Bedi in pivotal roles, along with Anil Kapoor in a cameo.
