Hiphop Tamizha Adhi’s upcoming Tamil film ‘Anbarivu’ is going straight to digital! The much-awaited film has skipped its theatrical release and will release directly on OTT. Disney Plus Hotstar has grabbed the rights for the direct digital release of Anbarivu. Disney Plus Hotstar announced the premiere of Anbarivu on its social media handles this morning. The platform hasn’t revealed a release date for the film yet.
Anbarivu is Hiphop Tamizha Adhi‘s next film after the well-received Sivakumarin Sabadham. Debutant director Aswin Raam has written and directed the film, while Pon Parthiban is the co-writer. Top Tamil production house Sathya Jyothi Films has bankrolled Anbarivu. The film is reportedly a rural drama, set in the backdrop of family.
Anbarivu will not have Adhi playing just one character. The lovable actor has a double role in the film. It also has an interesting ensemble cast, comprising Napolean, Vidaarth, Kashmira Pardeshi, Shivani Rajashekar (Rajashekar’s daughter), Saikumar, Asha Sharath and Dheena. Anbarivu is centred on a unique family drama of three generations of men of a family living together under one roof in Madurai. Napolean plays the grandfather of Adhi’s character, while Saikumar plays his father.
Hiphop Tamizha Adhi’s previous film Sivakumarin Sabadham released in theatres to average business. The film had its digital premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar earlier this month. Now, Anbarivu is also set to release on Disney Plus Hotstar, but as a straight to digital release.
