Exclusive Bengali streaming platform, Hoichoi TV, is celebrating the completion of six years of its existence. To mark the occasion, the streamer has announced a massive slate of 25 new and returning shows that will debut on the platform in the remainder of 2022 and in 2023.
The 25 titles include 4 original content from Bangladesh, and the rest from India. Popular filmmakers such as Srijit Mukherji, Dhrubo Banerjee, Anirban Bhattacharya, Sahana Dutta, Syed Ahmed Shawki, Ashfaque Nipun and others continue their journey with Hoichoi. This year will also mark the coming on board of Bengali cinema stalwarts Raj Chakraborty and Arindam Sil, who will start their OTT journey with Hoichoi TV.
Hoichoi TV also revealed that the platform has enjoyed a 50% growth in direct subscriptions, along with a 20% month on month increase in watch time, in the post lockdown period. There has been a 40% rise in monthly active users and a 40% rise in international yearly subscriber base.
Hoichoi TV has also turned profitable, becoming the first OTT platform to do so.
