Hoichoi TV‘s upcoming suspense thriller web series Shobdo Jobdo has all the makings of a chilling, compelling web show, if its first teaser is anything to go by. The streaming platform recently dropped the first teaser, and we must say, we’re intrigued.
The teaser shows Rajat Kapoor in an avatar we’ve never seen him in before. He’s the main protagonist of the series, and comes across as a man with much to hide in a murky, as-yet-unrevealed past. The very same past appears to be catching up with him, as a series of quick cuts show.
Shots of him drowning, being stalked, waking up in paranoia, interspersed with the film playing in rewind, add to the element of suspense. Nothing is what it appears to be. In one of the most gruesome scenes, Kapoor uncovers his dinner dish to reveal a mutilated hand served up on the plate.
There’s a lot lot of surrealism at play in the teaser, replete with scenes of a somewhat lascivious protagonist in Kapoor. There are no dialogues in the entire almost minute long teaser; only a continuous, very unsettling musical tempo.
The teaser of Shobdo Jobdo certainly ups the ante with its montage of enigmatic, disturbing shots. Let’s see how the actual series measures up to the teaser.
Besides Rajat Kapoor, Shobdo Jobdo stars actors Payel Sarkar, Subrat Dutta and Mumtaz Sorcar in crucial roles. It is directed by Sourav Chakraborty.
