Hollywood Strikes Won’t Alter Stranger Things S5, Says David Harbour

Stranger Things fame David Harbour believes that Season 5 will be filmed at the same time as MCU’s Thunderbolts, despite the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Harbour is set to reprise his roles of Red Guardian in Thunderbolts and fan-favourite Jim Hopper in Stranger Things Season 5. This is what he said in his recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter:

“There will be a little bit of a push difference, but Stranger Things 5 will shoot for a year,” he said. “So Thunderbolts will have to live somewhere within that, but the whole thing is crazy speculation at this point. I just don’t know what anything is anymore. I don’t know what we’re doing. I really wish that somebody in charge could tell me what’s going on, because I get tons of phone calls every week that say, ‘Oh, this is what’s gonna happen.’ And then it just doesn’t happen. So nobody knows.”

Marvel Studios was less than three weeks away from commencing Thunderbolts’ production in Atlanta when the WGA strike was announced.

The ongoing Hollywood strikes have halted the production of many big-budget projects, including Stranger Things Season 5 and Thunderbolts. Fans have no idea when will these strikes end. Though, this scenario has not stopped David Harbour from staring in both productions.

Netflix is yet to reveal the release window of Stranger Things Season 5. On the other hand, MCU’s Thunderbolts is scheduled to arrive in theatres globally on December 20, 2024. Stay tuned for more updates.
