Horror and animation are well-to-do genres in most film industries. However, animated horror is a super-intriguing genre in itself. Some classics that fall under this category include ‘Coraline’, ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’, ‘Monster House’, ‘Corpse Bride’, ‘Hotel Transylvania’, and many more.
‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ is another popular name in the animated-horror categorization. The Universal Studio’s film revolves around a troubled security guard who begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. While spending his first night on the job, he realizes his late shift won’t be as easy as it seems as the animatronic mascots are often prone to murder.
The film set Blumhouse’s box office on fire by becoming their highest-grosser of all time. And now, all set to fire up ticket sales again, ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’ is officially getting a sequel in 2025 under Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions, the studios that backed the first film.
The popular film is, unsurprisingly, an adaptation of the 2014 point-and-click survival horror game developed by Scott Cawthon. As for the voicing actors who comprised the ensemble cast, Josh Hutcherson played Mike Schmidt, the new employee at Fazbear’s Pizzeria. He was supported by Elizabeth Lail, Matthew Lillard, MatPat, Piper Rubio, and more.
While many cast members expressed their desires for a sequel, no details are out regarding the exact release date, plot details or returning cast members for the follow-up. Watch this space for updates as they roll out!
