Dr. Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Studios, the production house behind Pratik Gandhi’s debut Hindi film ‘Ravan Leela’ has now changed the film’s name to ‘Bhavai’. Helmed by Hardik Gajjar, ‘Bhavai’ is all set to release in cinemas on 1st October, 2021.
The move comes in wake of controversy around the film’s name that supposedly hurt people’s sentiments. And in order to avoid any such conflict and also to respect people’s beliefs and sentiments, it was understood that a change in name of the film from Raavan Leela to Bhavai is best suited.
Pen Studios released a poster of the film with the new name and wrote on Twitter, “Every film, for us, is a story to connect with our audience, keep them entertained & not hurt any sentiments. Keeping this in mind, we are changing the title to #Bhavai, the story of the art & the artist!🎭
Looking forward to telling you this story in cinemas on 1st October!😇”

Going by the trailer of Bhavai, released a few days ago, the film is set in a village where where a group of stage actors arrive to perform Ram Leela and the local village boy Raja who is attracted to one of the girls in the troop joins them as the villain Raavan. But it all soon transforms from what seemed to be a fun drama into something more complex and intense.
Scam 1992 fame Pratik Gandhi shines out brilliantly in the trailer both in his role as a village boy and the villain Raavan. With story, screenplay and direction from Hardik Gajjar, ‘Bhavai’ also stars Aindrita Ray, Rajendra Gupta, Rajesh Sharma and Abhimanyu Singh in prominent roles.
‘Bhavai’ is presented by Dr Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios) and produced by Dhaval Jayantilal Gada, Aksshay Jayantilal Gada, Parth Gajjar and Richa Amod Sachan. The production companies behind the film are Hardik Gajjar Films and Back Bencher Pictures.
‘Bhavai’ will premiere in theatres on 1st October, 2021.
