Disney Plus Hotstar has just released the trailer for its upcoming series ‘Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo’. Until now, all the promos of the show released by Disney Plus Hotstar focused on the badass female protagonists of the show, led by Dimple Kapadia, Radhika Madan, Isha Talwar, and Angira Dhar. We even got a look at the timid male characters in the show, played by Ashish Varma and Varun Mitra.
However, the official full-fledged trailer of Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo gives us the first glimpse of the menacing villain of the story – a bald, light-eyed badass, played by Deepak Dobriyal. His villain exudes a chilling quietude and a sinister aura. He swears vengeance against Rani Savitri Devi and her feisty gang of women for taking what’s his – a fat slice of the lucrative drugs trade in the country.
Yes, the Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo trailer reveals exactly what the female members of the conservative Rajasthani clan are engaged in – they grow, manufacture and run a drug cartel from their backyard, even as the men of their family live out of the city for work reasons. Along the way, they make enemies aplenty, the most ruthless one being Deepak Dobriyal’s character. But the tenacious women bow to none – killing, shooting, stabbing anyone who dares to cross them.
We also get our first glimpse of veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah in Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo. The actor plays Rani’s old father-in-law, and also the voice of reason in the murders and mayhem happening around him. Will he turn out to be as badass as the female members of his family – we’ll only know when the series premieres on Disney Plus Hotstar on May 5th.
The Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo trailer is certainly explosive AF, and amps up excitement for the crime series manifold. We may not have got an Indian version of Walter White/Pablo Escobar yet. But with Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo, we’re about to get not just an Indian version of the iconic characters, but an Indian ‘female’ version! Eat that!

Besides Dimple Kapadia, the series stars Naseeruddin Shah, Radhika Madan, Angira Dhar, Isha Talwar, Monica Dogra, Ashish Verma, Varun Mitra, Udit Arora, Deepak Dobriyal, Vipin Sharma and Jimit Trivedi, among others. ‘Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo’ is created and directed by Homi Adjania, and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films.
