Dragons are coming and the house of Targaryen is about to rise with its full glory. Yes, you heard it right. ‘House of the Dragon’ officially kicks off production and the fans of ‘GOT’ will finally have something to go crazy!

Earlier yesterday, the makers of the highly acclaimed show ‘Game of Thrones’ took to social media to share the news with the fans around the world along with the pictures of the cast members on socially distanced tables.

The buzz of House of the Dragon was there quite a long time now since Game of Thrones ended in 2019. But now as it has officially begun production the fans will be more than happy to accommodate those epic characters once again in their minds.

House of the Dragon will be based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood and will be set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones. This new series will explore the Targaryen family and their relationship with the dragons. The show will feature Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as as the Sea Snake and Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower among many others.

The makers have shared the pictures of the actors captioning: “Fire will reign. HBO original series #houseofthedragon is officially in production. Coming soon to HBO Max in 2022.”

House of the Dragon is reportedly co-created by George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal. Game of Thrones veteran Miguel Sapochnik will direct the pilot and the additional episodes. Martin, Condal and Sapochnik will be the executive producers for House of the Dragon. Sara Lee Hess, Vince Gerardis and Ron Schmidt will be responsible for writing the story line.

House of the Dragon will be a 10-episode show and will be released in 2022 as confirmed by the makers.
