While Season 2 felt lackluster (special thanks to its mundane and dialogue-heavy finale), House of the Dragon Season 3 will surely win the hearts of the Game of Thrones fanbase. Season 2 has received harsh criticism for some of its storylines, character arcs, and most importantly, the noticeable lack of action and blood. It seems like all these issues will be resolved in the third season. Most importantly, the upcoming season may conclude the long-standing feud between Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell) and his uncle, Daemon (Matt Smith).
Capturing mainly the second half of George R. R. Martin’s Fire & Blood novel, House of the Dragon explores the history of House Targaryen, particularly the Dance of the Dragons, the civil war that resulted in the fall of the once great house of Dragonriders. We have witnessed plenty of compelling characters in the show so far, but Aemond and Daemon literally stand out the most. Which is why fans are excited to see what will happen to these guys in Season 3.
The highly anticipated showdown between Daemon and Aemond may take place in the next season, which could feature the well-known “Battle Above the God’s Eye”. In a desperate attempt to avenge the death of his son Lucerys, Daemon jumps from his dragon Caraxes onto the back of Aemond’s larger dragon, Vhagar. In the ensuing chaos, Daemon manages to blind Aemond before both men and their dragons plunge into the waters of the God’s Eye.
Although Aemond’s body was recovered after the battle, there was no trace of Daemon. This fueled rumors that he might have survived the clash. Nevertheless, considering the severity of the fall and the absence of any proof to the contrary, most people believe Daemon died in the dragon fight.
We have to wait long to get our hands on House of the Dragon Season 3. Meanwhile, you guys can watch Season 2 on JioCinema. Stay tuned for more updates.
