On a difference of mere 11 days, House Of The Dragons and The Rings Of Power got released. While both the fantasy series got rave reviews, competition between the same is inevitable.
Prime Video made the biggest and most expensive series ever with The Rings Of Power and House Of The Dragons is a prequel to the Game Of Thrones series which is a benchmark in itself.
Globally, we do not have level data so we can’t say whether one series outperformed the other. Because, if you remember about the premiere day then The House Of The Dragons garnered about 10 million viewers throughout the USA on HBO and HBO Max.
But Prime Video claims to have earned 25 Million viewers within the first 24 hours of the premiere. But, that is global data while the former is true only for the USA.
So it won’t be unfair competition. Regardless, talking about the Indian audience then we are almost clear about the more successful show.
It is The House Of The Dragons. A big credit goes to the Game Of Thrones brand name where the fans of the show immediately jumped on the prequel series. Also, the subscriber base of Disney+Hotstar which is almost double that of Prime Video.
