Critics have hailed Diego Luna’s Andor as the best Star Wars series after The Mandalorian on the Disney+ streaming service. The ongoing season has served as a rollercoaster ride for the fans. After barely saving his skin in the Aldhani heist, Cassian tried to kick back on Niamos, a resort planet. However, the Empire ended up arresting him there. As a result, he receives a very long sentence on Narkina 5.
Fans also witnessed Cassian serving as slave labour after his arrest. He, along with his fellow prisoners, helped in building mysterious machine parts for the Empire. But the question is, what were they building?
Kino Loy actor Andy Serkis recently shared some interesting details about what the prisoners were building (via Jake’s Takes):
“That’s not a question I can answer directly, but let me tell you that the parts that they are building – and I’m sure people will have to figure this out themselves and I’m sure that many have, if they’re really watching closely – they are building something for the Empire that is used for nefarious purposes, so I’m going to leave it there.”
Many fans believe that the actor hinted at the Death Star parts in his recent talk. And it makes a lot of sense. Nothing in the entire Star Wars franchise is more nefarious than the Death Star. The galactic superweapon was first introduced in Episode IV: The New Hope. It was capable of destroying entire planets. Galactic Empire built it to strengthen its control over the galaxy. But thanks to the Rebels and their undying hope, they destroyed the weapon and gave the Empire quite a shock.
‘Andor’ serves as a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), which itself is an immediate prequel to The New Hope. The series focuses on Cassian’s early life and his evolution into a rebel. He sacrificed his life while stealing the Death Star’s plans in Rogue One.
