We are in the middle of the year, and the entertainment industry is pacing up. Theaters are thriving, and the OTT space is flooded with some good shows on both sides of the world. But rightfully speaking, the West is having a bright time with its current shows.
Let’s dive deep, shall we?
The Acolyte was the first big show released in June, and though it was bombarded in terms of IMDb ratings, scoring only 3.4, it has an 84% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is quite high. Being a show from the Star Wars universe, it was destined to get great ratings. Although fans were initially skeptical about the female lead, the show is gaining some traction.
Then comes The Boys, Prime Video’s prized possession. This rogue superhero show is practically off the charts with more opportunities to grow. Season 4 of the show has a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and despite being one of the lowest-rated seasons of the show, fans are quite happy with the progress of The Boys’ storyline.
On the other hand, there is House of the Dragon. Similar to The Acolyte, this show has the privilege of being part of a well-appreciated franchise, but this Game of Thrones spin-off is doing wonders on its own. It is sitting at 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is quite high, and as more spin-offs are coming, the show will definitely gain more importance in the future.
Last but not least, we have the newest entry on the list which is definitely cooking, The Bear, now streaming on FX, Disney+, and Hotstar, and fans are loving it. Just to talk about the ratings, it is as high as 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, the highest in the bunch.
So, to summarize, June has been a really fruitful month for the OTT and TV series industry with several hit shows around the world. July might slow down, but June has definitely been bombastic.
