Diego Luna starrer ‘Andor’ series has emerged as one of the best Star Wars entries of all time. The way Tony Gilroy and his team have bestowed a stripped-down yet hard-hitting Star Wars entry is no joke. One of the reasons why ‘Andor’ has worked brilliantly among the fans is the makers’ decision to focus more on the human characters and explore them.
Star Wars is one of the most prominent franchises in Hollywood. The franchise has delivered multiple memorable movies and tv shows. And many alien characters have been utilised as central figures in numerous SW storylines. For example, we have Jabba the Hutt in Episode VI. We see Luke Skywalker saving his friend, Han Solo, and his sister, Princess Leia, from Jabba’s palace on Tatooine in the film. And how can we forget Chewbacca? Solo’s best buddy. These types of alien characters have been noticeably absent from ‘Andor’. Instead, most of the main characters are human. Yes, it was a different approach from the makers. But it worked amazingly well. It has given the show a serious and gritty look. The less usage of sci-fi techniques and lack of alien characters have made the show quite different from the rest of the Star Wars instalments. This approach also says a lot about the Galactic Empire during the events of the show.
