Shahrukh Khan’s Jawan is one of the biggest box office blockbusters India has seen in a while. Needless to say, it will certainly remain a brilliant example in this category for a long time to come. But, Jawan made a not-so-surprising entry at Netflix India on the occasion of SRK’s birthday… Well, you all are Binged readers, you MUST be aware of it.
Regardless, what is the OTT performance of Jawan?
If you, we or anyone for that matter had to take a guess then we would naturally quote a high astounding number. But the truth is quite the contrary.
Jawan and its views are just above average on OTT.
No matter how surprising as it may sound, it is actually the truth according to the Netflix charts. Big theatrical films like Gangubai Kathiawadi and RRR created big waves on Netflix. Even Kareena Kapoor’s Jaane Jaan came out to be extremely successful on Netflix. But, the same can’t be said about Jawan.
In the two weeks that Jawan has been streaming at Netflix India, the film grabbed 4th and 3rd highest viewed non-English movie globally. Now, it may sound great, but you certainly expect much more from a film which is of Jawan’s magnitude. Because the above-cited films have actually unleashed that magic.
But, unfortunately, the gap between the top-performing film and Jawan is huge. To sum up, Jawan’s OTT performance might be good but it could be far far better.
