The ability to mount a large-scale project for the Malayalam film industry is possible now. But how often can it make a multi-star flick? Back then, a movie named ‘Twenty Twenty’, which had ‘all-stars on one Screen’ released in the year 2008, became a great blockbuster and received high critical acclaim. Can this upcoming movie make an impact like the previous one which is en route?
This multi-star Malayalam flick will be directed by Mahesh Narayanan who has made brilliant works like ‘Take Off’, ‘Malik’, and ‘C u Soon’ where Mammooty Kampany along with Antony Perumbavoor for Aashirvad Cinemas will be bankrolling the effort, and will feature actor Mammootty in the lead role.
Also, actor Mohanlal is expected to play an important role parallel to the lead actor which is an anticipated aspect for the critics and fans where the level of performance and stardom is at the peak level that can create a profound wave in the industrial box office.
Subsequently, such a combination with an efficient craftsman is expected to propagate more industries and can cross boundaries. Previously, the actors have worked together for not more than two movies before acquiring stardom.
However, a similar concept of a multi-star project was planned by the Late director Sachy, who is famous for movies like ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’, where actors Mammooty and Prithviraj Sukumaran along with a probable cast of actors Biju Menon and Asif Ali, naming the movie ‘Brigand’, which was said to be dealing with forest and ‘Mac Guffin’ plot device. Unfortunately, the dream got shelved.
Also, the pack of brilliant actors Kunchako Boban and Asif Ali is set to join the project which can be a treat for witnessing the arena for the best performances. The former’s performance in movies like Martin Prakkat’s ‘Naayatu’ and recently released Amal Neerad’s ‘Bougainvillea’ were having high reception due to his versatility.
Similarly, the latter’s performance in Dinjith Ayyathan’s ‘Kishkindhaa Kaandam’ received high critical acclaim. Both actors have worked in the director’s previous movie ‘Take Off’ despite having shared a screen space. Hoping this project will also provide noteworthy scope for the actors.
As per speculations, Fahadh Fassil is also set to join such a massive effort which has not yet been confirmed. The involvement of such actors who are a blend of both bankable and delivering strong performances with a brilliant team can be a revolution for the Malayalam industry.
