We are less than a month away from the release of Money Heist Season 5. Fans have been waiting diligently for the series to drop and now finally there have been updates on the series. For quite some time, Netflix was quite hush-hush about Money Heist Season 5, and fans had no other way than to wait for official information. There were a lot of rumors floating around, as to how this season will pan out, but finally, Netflix put an end to all of this as they dropped the trailer for Money Heist on Aug 2nd.
By now, one thing is known by everyone and that is Money Heist Season 5 will be released in 2 portions, one part coming out in September and the other in December. Now, from the mind-blowing trailer and the end of Season 4, we know one thing for sure and that is things don’t look good right now for the team of robbers. Now, we know one thing for sure and that is the Professor getting busted by Sierra. Without the Professor, the team is pretty much useless until and unless they form their plans, which looks like will be the basic crux of this season.
Now going back to Season 4, we know how fans were left heartbroken when they saw one of the most loved characters breathing her last. We are talking about Nairobi here, played by Alba Flores. She was the kind of leader that everyone wanted to follow, she was the kind of friend who wouldn’t leave you alone and she was the kind of team player that everyone could rely on. Even though her death hurt fans, what made us cry was the ending and send-off she received. She carried out in a box, with guards, like a soldier that needed all the respect in the world.
Now, as she descended onto the other side, as shown in the show, she was welcomed with open arms by the past ones, who already gave their lives fighting for the team. This included Berlin, Oslo, and the lovable Moscow as Nairobi laid down on the green grass looking up at the sky. While here, her friends and her only family were in a state of shock, they decided whatever it will be, it will be for Nairobi, and Nairobi only.
But, then again, when we see the trailer, do we see any more of Nairobi? We don’t, at least not right now. Fans have been demanding to bring back Nairobi in one or the other, maybe like in a flashback scene, how we have been seeing Berlin for the past seasons and how we will see him again this season. The last season itself ended on the note that whatever they do it will be to bring justice to her and to complete her dream of finishing the mission and fans are hoping that maybe the fire of bringing justice to their friend will be the key in this season.
Though we don’t see any glimpses of Nairobi, or even hear about except a sentence of how they lost a friend in the first few seconds of the trailer, we see one thing that will resonate with Nairobi and that, my dear people is: Matriarchy. It is no lie that Nairobi, since Season 1, hated the fact that a man would give orders and not listen to her reasoning, especially in the case of Berlin. She lived by the rule that women can do anything and everything, and with the Professor being taken over, the next in command might be Lisbon.
The last few seconds of the trailer show not the men in the group, but how the women suit up and get ready to lead. This includes Lisbon heading them, while Tokyo is on one side and Stockholm is on the other. This definitely looks like something Nairobi would have loved to see and we are sure fans too. Now, at this point, all we can do is assume and see how this goes and by far this is the only thing that we can make out. But, then again bringing back Nairobi even if it is in flashbacks will be a treat to everyone’s eyes and this would end up making the season a tad bit more emotional and special.
But, for that to be witnessed, we need to wait till the 3rd of September, when Money Heist Season 5, finally starts streaming on Netflix, marking the beginning of the end of their marvelous, thrilling journey.
