Netflix is known for making great and exceptional documentaries. Currently, the Ukraine Russia war is coming hard on humanity and a lot of innocent people are losing their lives. The Batman alongside a lot of other American films has stopped their screening in Russia as a representation of their protest against the war.
Netflix has taken this a way forward and made their Oscar-nominated film available to stream for free. Winter On Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom was released on Netflix in 2015. It was widely acclaimed for its brutal representation of Ukrainian citizens fighting against Russian offences.
It gives an idea into the psyche of the Ukrainian citizens as they fight against Russia. Produced in 2015 by Evgeny Afineevsky, it uses real footage of a 3-month long revolution of the Ukrainian people against a whimsical decision by their then-President Viktor Yanukovych to merge with Russia.
To sum up, this documentary not only spotlights the political scene but also on the humane side of people who are crushed by the decisions made by one or two people.
Netflix has uploaded the full-length documentary on their official YouTube channel as it will lead much more people to gain access to the film.
