Parambrata Chattopadhyay is all set to direct a new web series named “Bhog” which will star Anirban Bhattacharya as the lead role. Although these two stars have been in front of the camera before in “Dwitiyo Purush”, now Parambrata will be behind the camera.
Recently this Halloween we saw Parambrata’s second take on the Bhaduri Moshai saga, which was “Nikosh Chhaya” and Anirban in “Talmar Romeo Juliet”, the second instalment of the Shakespearean saga.
But, now Parambrata is gearing up to direct the story “Bhog” written by Abhik Sarkar, which is also a horror story.
It is fair to say that Parambrata has been taking up stories which are only based on the theme of horror, his first Hoichoi series “Parnashavari Shaap”, then “Nikosh Chhaya” all of them are based on the element of horror.
Is it a sign that the actor turned director is getting too cosy with his theme of horror ?
“Bhog” revolves around a guy who has a monotonous life and suddenly one day in a shop he finds a brass idol and started worshipping it, slowly the story takes a mysterious turn as the guy is turning more dull and dull day by day, and he his having a very gradual yet significant change in his physical appearance as well.
It all comes back to the idol he was worshipping, which turns out to be “Devi Matongi”.
Abhik Sarkar wrote this story is a very popular one among the Bengali Horror reader fanbase.
Yet of now the only two actors who have joined the team are Rajatava Dutta and Anirban Bhattacharya.
We know Anirban’s capability as a creative director as well, as in “Mandaar”, “Talmar Romeo Juliet” and the movie directed by Arna Mukhopadhyay “Atthoi” he worked as a creative director, this might add a layer in this upcoming project as well.
Interestingly Arna Mukhopadhyay is a part of Parambrata’s Bhaduri Moshai saga as well.
It seems like Hoichoi has its cult of actors who are intertwined with each other.
The work towards this new project hasn’t started yet, but the look we see in the image posted online of Parambrata and Anirban both dressed in black directs to the dark theme of the story.
With “Nikosh Chhaya”s storytelling skills Parambrata captivated a lot of audience’s interest, as did Anirban with “Talmar Romeo Juliet”.
Now it’s time to see whether this duo can do wonders again or not but now one in front of the camera and one behind it.
