Binged asked its followers the reason Disney+ Hotstar is so popular amongst the masses. No wonder the platform has a beastly monopoly and hardly anyone stands against them in terms of subscriber count.
Not only that, the quantity of titles that Disney+Hotstar provides is leaps and bounds more than anyone else can. Needless to say, this huge ocean of new/old titles from various foreign platforms such as HBO, Hulu, FX, and more acted as the USP Of Hotstar.
But from the past few months, we can see penetration in the monopoly. Months ago, we saw this in the case of Deep Water. It was a Hulu original and normally it would stream on Hotstar but alas! It went to Prime Video and since then Prime Video has been grabbing a great deal of foreign content on its platform.
So much so that Prime Video is bringing 10 new originals by HBO Max on Prime Video.
It also includes the highly awaited Peacemaker starring John Cena.
The question is clear?
Will this affect Disney+Hotstar?
Certainly, it will.
With IPL rights gone, the platform needs to grab more and more content to keep its USP vivid. Although this collaboration is more of Warner Bros than HBO Max, this will immensely help Prime Video to entertain more traffic on their platform.
