There might be a chance that Hunger Games is moving faster than it should. Game of Thrones made a similar mistake—they didn’t wait for George R.R. Martin. He was forced to speed up his writing, and we all know the results were practically abysmal.
Now, fans might ask if Hunger Games is reaching doomsday.
The previous installment, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, had a great box-office run. With big numbers, the run was definitely a long one, and there is a big chance the makers want to strike while the iron is hot.
But there is a major problem: the book is not ready.
Even if the book isn’t ready, they can definitely work on a screenplay. However, this approach has lately been a failure. As previously discussed, Game of Thrones made an attempt and failed miserably; the last season was as bad as it could be.
As the official tweet confirmed that the new book is coming, it is being narrated that the work for the next film will be based on the upcoming book. You can definitely expect a collaborative effort between the show makers and Suzanne Collins.
Sunrise on the Reaping will be published on March 18, 2025, and if you are excited about the adaptation, it will be released on Nov. 20, 2026, by Lionsgate Studios.
The official Hunger Games account announced “Sunrise on the Reaping,” a new book from Scholastic set in post-apocalyptic Panem. It explores the morning of the reaping for the 50th Hunger Games, known as the Second Quarter Quell, occurring 24 years before the original series. Panem, once North America, was ravaged by war and climate change.
